The Appleman study and the MINTRA line information was never designed to predict how long a trail lasted in the sky(1).
The MINTRA line came into existence from the desire of pilots to fly war planes in stealth during WW2.

Chemtrails
Chemtrails are the strangest thing.
I first noticed trails that lasted all day in 2008 but did not have any idea why the trails looked strange. Since I was about 3 or 4 years old I had watched every plane flying overhead, from when I was old enough to walk into the garden.
